Hi, I'm Elise!

I'm from a small town called Oxford, Michigan, but now I live in Ann Arbor. At U of M I'm a sophomore studying English with a minor in writing, and I hope to one day become a high school English teacher. Outside of school I write and edit for the Michigan Daily, edit for the Prison Creative Arts Project, and work as a peer consultant at the Sweetland Center for Writing. I love all things arts -- books, music, film, you name it.

I'm quick to tell people that I love to write, but that's just part of the truth, not all of It. Writing is hard, and often when I'm in the middle of it I hate it. But there aren't many things that surpass the feeling of finishing a piece of writing that you worked really, really hard on. That feeling is the reason why I write and the reason I decided to pursue a minor in writing.
